Our Story

At Ma Wisdom, we believe that intergenerational knowledge is powerful. There is something deeply meaningful about the wisdom passed down through families - the kind that comes from lived experience, quiet observation and unconditional love.

As doulas, educators, mothers, daughters and women, we understand the many layers that make up the journey into parenthood and the equally important journey of becoming a grandparent.

Our team brings over 20 years of combined experience supporting families through birth, postpartum and early parenthood. We are all qualified birth and postpartum doulas and between us hold Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate IV in Doula Support Services and Childbirth Educator qualifications. But beyond the qualifications, we are also women who have stood in many of the roles our participants hold - as mothers, mothers-in-law, grandparents, aunties and daughters. We know what it means to love a new family deeply and to want to offer the best support possible, even when the landscape of birth and parenting has changed so much over time.

We are passionate about ensuring that the information we share is evidence-based, up-to-date, and grounded in best practice. We draw from reputable research and work in collaboration with professionals, researchers and providers who bring even more depth to our understanding. We are always learning and we believe that being a good guide means knowing when to listen, stay curious and seek knowledge from those who know more.

Most importantly, our workshops are delivered in a compassionate, inclusive and supportive environment. We honour the role of grandparents and extended family and aim to create a space where people feel heard, respected and valued.
